I am a Lao-British designer and social entrepreneur based in the UK and South East Asia, with a background in fashion, textiles and jewellery. My brand 'Finchittida' began as a fashion accessories label inspired by my Lao heritage. Since then Finchittida has evolved into a trailblazing brand that explores cross-cultural diversity and positive social impact with cutting edge fashion. Gaining a reputation as a trailblazer in the fashion industry for our audacious aesthetics & altruistic attitude. I love working across a spectrum of creative projects with global brands, music artists and movements worldwide, which have included Warner Bros, ASOS, Urban Outfitters, FKA twigs, artisans from Brazil and musicians in Cambodia. I am especially passionate about combining creativity with wellbeing and education; collaborations include MAG in Laos, Southbank Centre, Kensington Aldridge Academy, Fashion Revolution and Kindness Festival in Cambodia. Alongside running my fashion brand Finchittida, I often run workshops, talks and mentoring for local communities and leaders, from speed-mentoring local school girls on the London Eye to tea at 10 Down Street! I built a successful fashion accessories label from scratch with my twin sister, shortly after graduating from university. Established a popular online shop and showcased at exclusive pop-up shops, trade shows and sales events. Since then Finchittida has been stocked with independent boutiques, global retailers and favoured by high profile music artists & prestigious individuals worldwide. Finchittida has been featured in leading fashion and lifestyle publications internationally including Vogue, Elle, Stylist, Guardian, Hunger and Wonderland magazine. Finchittida have also been commissioned to design custom pieces for a Warner Bros feature film and FKA twigs. I lead the creative direction of the brand: - Designing collections, one-off pieces and private commissions including jewellery, bags, womenswear & homeware - Art directing lookbooks and marketing campaigns - Styling products for eCommerce & social media - Producing lookbooks, fashion films, eCommerce photo-shoots - Designing visual merchandise & product displays (in-store & online) - Visual-merchandising events and pop up shops
I design bespoke prints / textiles / homeware for private and commercial clients / projects. Specialising in screen-print, digital print, laser-cutting and mixed media embellishments. I have also exhibited and sold one-off print designs at Premiere Vision in Paris.
I do personal styling with my own brand Finchittida, international music artists and private clients. While travelling in Cambodia I seized the opportunity to style one of the biggest popstars in Cambodia; Laura Mam. This whirlwind adventure took me on the first ever tour of original music across Cambodia, working alongside incredibly inspiring and talented individuals - passionate about re-building Cambodian culture through music after the devastating Khmer Rouge genocide.
Burberry Create, an initiative of the Burberry Foundation, is a seven week, full-time program aimed to develop key skills via creative training and work-placement. I completed a four week placement in the Burberry Merchandising team, assisting with PLM and analyzing sales. I also used design thinking methodology to solve a real Burberry Business Challenge, winning first prize. Developing my research, creativity, team-work, creative problem solving and communication skills to generate, prototype and communicate fresh, innovative solutions. I delivered a formal presentation to a panel of four senior Burberry executives and showcased the final project to over 200 employees at Burberry Global HQ and digitally to over 10,000 Burberry employees worldwide.
