- The Voice In The HeadA 12-minute short film based on Eckhart Tolle’s best-seller ‘A New Earth’ by award winning director Cyrus Trafford. ‘The Voice in the Head’ brings to life a particular story from the book, questioning the margins between sanity and insanity, in an ambitious production that has already been praised by the likes of Forbes Magazine, The Huffington Post and two times BAFTA winning director Otto Bathurst. The film has won numerous awards around the world and continues to gain screenings.
- Dream, Cease, RepeatDream. Cease. Repeat was a part of the Sankofa! Festival. This was created and produced by Phakama’s Spotlight interns – a team of emerging artists and producers aged 18-24 years old. Dream. Cease. Repeat is a play directed by Tim Porter and written/produced by Abu Jafor and Lika Abdalla. This 40 minute play presents three interwoven stories exploring how we struggle to chase our dreams, whilst still fulfilling our obligations. From the battlefields of World War I, through the streets of East London in the 70’s, to a family home in 2014- three stories reveal the struggles of obligation and sacrifice and pose the question ‘What matters most to us?’
