With more than five years' experience in marketing roles, I am an enthusiastic, efficient and highly creative individual who is used to taking the lead on projects and working as part of a team. Responsible for the full marketing mix, I manage the Practice brand, print and digital communications, PR and press coverage, charitable programme and award entries. I also support the new business function by monitoring opportunities and assisting with bid submissions. Current brief includes writing and implementing a Practice-wide integrated marketing and communications plan.
This cross-departmental role has involved me working in the following areas: - External Relations Reporting to the Brand Manager, I design student recruitment, business engagement and corporate marketing collateral including brochures, exhibition materials, signage, billboards and adverts that augment the brand for departments in the UK, China and Malaysia. I ensure these materials fit within the University’s brand and often work to tight deadlines. I also cover the approval of artwork to brand guidelines in the absence of the Brand Manager. Although part of an in-house design team, this role has seen me design for various brands in the University’s business portfolio including Lakeside Arts Centre (the University’s public arts centre and theatre), NUAST (Nottingham University Academy for Science and Technology) and sub brand, Impact: The Nottingham Campaign. - Careers and Employability Service I provide marketing and design support, coordinating integrated, multi-channel, print and digital campaigns. This has included writing and implementing integrated marketing communication plans, pitching these ideas to senior managers, designing collateral such as banners, promotional merchandise, brochures, invitations and digital imagery, and commissioning creative concepts such as videos and social media competitions. Managing my own workload, I oversee projects from the ideas stage through implementation/design to production/delivery. I proofread and approve artwork designed by colleagues to brand guidelines. I have experience of recruitment, having been involved in the recruitment and supervision of two design assistants. Delivering InDesign and branding training as part of this role has enhanced my communication and presentation skills. I am solely responsible for managing the department’s relationship with print suppliers on a daily basis. I have organised various publicity events, supported by social media campaigns. This involved budgeting, running focus groups, and securing buy-in from external stakeholders and 10 university departments. - Nottingham Advantage Award I produced creative concepts for the University’s employability skills award in two rebrand projects across a three-year period. Designed marketing collateral that gave the Award its own identity within the University’s brand. I also developed a new webpage, incorporating social media, videos and a blogging system for news, and introduced a ‘module guide’ as a key piece in the mix of promotional collateral.
