Travis Herberger is an urban painter based in Longview, Texas who was born and raised there. His watercolors are about the Gulf Coast of Texas, which includes beaches and nature as well as cities. He paints busy city streets because he loves colors so much – a lot of similar colors! Although he often moves things around for composition’s sake, Travis prefers to capture all aspects of that location at once rather than focusing on one thing while eliminating another element altogether-that would make his paintings too "pretty".
To Herberger, painting is a way to capture the moment in his drawings. He loves working from photographs as well as sketches on location for paintings because it's a process he can learn from and see things through his lens. For five years now, he has also been part of an artist group that gathers weekly where live models are drawn by other members of the group. This allows him to share his art with others and receive feedback directly on how they respond to each other's work.
Travis Herberger has been painting with watercolors for a few years. His work is predominantly featured on posters, marketing materials, and magazine covers since he started his art career. Travis's artwork has also found its way onto apparel throughout the last few years as well!
