Projects
  • Dancing with words & flirting with colours.
Dancing with words & flirting with colours. This project are some of the excerpts that were taken from a few monologues, poems or songs that I have worked on previously. A lot of them were commissions but because most of them were friends, we worked out a deal where I could keep some of the written work for, especially the ones that later become songs.

Art coverNew artwork recently made for the new album of @songemusic. Sônge is a French singer who is a true melancholic ;) The music she writes, abstract lyrically and harnessed by a flickering, electro-house production, is the perfect kind of pop you should listen to. Her new album called Flavourite CÂLÂ is out soon. ✨You can stream her music on all digital music platforms.

Well… what can I say :) I love to create, and once I was aware I wanted to become a singer as well as write for a living, art and design very quickly became my third love. My first influences were anime and manga, but as time has gone on I have started to create different types and styles of art. This is such as painted more focused on realism, abstract realism, the simplicity of cartoon style art (for kids mainly) and I am currently working on an exhibition called “The different shades of beauty in women of colour” with the ultimate underlying message being that beauty doesn’t come in just one universal type. I learned very early on to care about others, especially their self esteem and how they see themselves VS the one way that the west in particular seems to identify what beauty is.

This is where I did my final degree in “Commercial Music Performance.” The main music style this institute focused on was jazz and pop, and I know for a fact Jazz helped me tremendously. It strengthened my ear to different harmony sounds and arrangements, it also helped me develop a well rounded knowledge of music theory and songs that don’t just use the normal major or minor scales; I was introduced to modes, chromatic scales, the cycle of fifths etc and it wasn’t long before the aural module became one of my successful modules alongside vocal harmony and arrangement. I was unwell a lot at this time and I was worried I would do badly due to missing so many classes in my second year. Surprisingly though, I still managed to achieve a solid high scoring 2:1 grade for my degree and I was very proud of this because I did a lot of the work on my own and without the help of teachers or classmates.

As mentioned, my third love was quickly identified to be Art & Design, however at this point I was still young and unsure where I wanted to take it. I knew I loved illustration, character design, drawing comic strips, painting , sketching, using traditional mixed media only unless a camera was involved and designing typography by hand based on patterns I loved the most. The problem was though this was the beginning of me having health issues, and it was advised that I take a break for some time and then come back the following year. However in that time I was thinking and trying to get a handle on my health, it occurred to me that I hadn’t spent any time in years nurturing my first love and how important this was to me. I spoke with my mentor at the time and she was brilliant about the whole thing, saying she would take me on whenever I decided to make it back. Unfortunately by the time I finished my BMUS she had left the institute, so instead of going back to begin again from scratch I enrolled in several short courses alongside my degree to keep my skills up to scratch. I was sad that I had to leave LCC, but because at the time I wasn’t sure whether I was going to make it, I made sure I poured into what made my heart soar despite being unaware that I am a natural musician, writer and artist due to the way BIMM approached my degree. So I plan to be jack of all trades, and master them ALL.

Introduction to advanced swimming and lifeguard trainingEko Signature
I wanted to train as a life guard and continually develop my skills as a swimmer. I had improved quickly in a short space of time, so I wanted to try my hand at training as a life guard also. That had to stop once the pandemic started, but I got my certificate for the length swam while holding my breath for 50 seconds and then swimming the remainder of the pool in a short space of time.
