About me

Vicki has been a freelance photographer for over 20 years supplying photo libraries, exhibiting and undertaking commissions. In 2014 she set up Gardner & Hill, a retail business selling high quality home wares featuring primarily her images and runs this with a business partner. During this time, Vicki has also been a busy mum to three daughters and has been involved with numerous voluntary roles including chair of various local educational charities. Vicki is also now the official garden photographer of the stunning 'lost and found' Italian Garden at Great Ambrook in South Devon, documenting the garden as it goes through stages of renovation and the people involved. Vicki has won several awards for her work including first and third prizes in the Royal Horticultural Societies prestigious photographic competition and most recently an Honourable Mention in the International Black and White Photographic Awards. She also teaches mindfulness and photography through workshops and courses.

• Macro & Abstract Photography WorkshopsTwo half day workshops teaching participants about these styles of photography. What they are; how to utilise your available camera (smartphones, compact and DSLR's all on the workshops) for best images; what techniques to use compositionally etc.
• Mindfulness in Photography WorkshopsTwo half day workshops in the beautiful Italian Garden at Great Ambrook teaching about mindfulness; what it is, how it can help in our daily lives, how we practise mindfulness and how we can incorporate it into our photography and what benefits this can bring.
• Great Ambrook Italian Garden (Garden Photographer)I have recently become the official garden photographer for the Italian Garden at Great Ambrook, a stunning 'lost and found' garden with unique architecture and history, now in the process of renovation. I am documenting the garden from it's 'unfound' state through its renovation. I use a combination of digital cameras, pinhole and medium format.
