Conceptualisation, development, and design work on the first versions of the Homebase, Michael Page Recruitment and Marks & Spencer websites were just some of the projects I worked on whilst contracting for this busy "dot-com-boom-era" new media agency. Including the design and coding of presentations and CD Rom material for clients such as: ABN Amro, Merrill Lynch, British American Tobacco, Michael Page and many more.
Conceptualisation and brand development work assisting a busy team of freelance design consultants for high-profile clients such as Marks & Spencer. Working on the design and creation of artwork for report & accounts, annual reports, company brochures and many items of corporate stationary. Plus attending focus groups and working with market research companies.
After leaving college I decided to contract for a while so that I could experience many working environments. My first contract role was in a busy design and print agency and included brochure and newsletter design and artwork preparation, working with clients such as Guinness Flight and Natwest Bank.
I won this role at Reuters while still at college. My fellow students and I were all encouraged to pitch for the chance to design the Reuters Voice Systems intranet site. My design was selected as the winner. I worked offsite and visited their offices in Fleet Street once a week to supply their developers with graphics.
