About me
I am an enthusiastic fashion lover and maker, with eight years of experience working across design, pattern making, product development and account management. My focus is on contributing to a more conscious and fair fashion industry and I am currently a Product Developer at London's pioneering sustainable fashion brand, People Tree. I am happiest working in a creative team surrounded by a diverse range of personalities, where people are encouraged to question, contribute and grow.

Reporting to the Creative Director, I am responsible for researching trends, creating moodboards for each season, designing and developing new fabrics, prints, garments and jewellery with our fair trade producer partners in Bangladesh, in line with People Tree’s fair trade and sustainability standards. The role is highly creative but also involves management of production, communication with suppliers, creating specs/technical packs and attending fittings. I have also been able to assist the wholesale team with creating sales tools for marketing as well as graphic design for e-commerce.

I was responsible for management of the woven garments category on the Sussan account, one of Australia’s leading retailers. Daily tasks involved communication with offshore suppliers in price negotiation and ensuring production schedules were on track. I managed trend research and design, sourcing new fabrics, developing in house samples with local patternmakers and machinists or alternatively organising fit-packs for offshore sampling. Our team would present trend reports to the customer each season with purchased and developed samples accompanied by in-house designed trend books. I would attend customer fittings twice a week and provide technical assistance to feedback to suppliers.
