I have been Co-Director/Deputy Editor of ZERO Magazine since my first year at university. It is a digital arts-based platform aimed at publishing work by young writers, artists and photographers. Within my role I do a bit of everything, whether that be liaising with PR’s, writers and artists, writing articles, styling and planning shoots, proofreading, social media management, curating and managing content on the CMS (Squarespace).
RSG Consulting is a legal research and strategy consultancy company focused on innovation in law. Their major project is the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers reports. Whilst working at RSG I conducted research for the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Asia Pacific report, working closely with the Financial Times editorial team. I also assisted in arrangements for the team’s trip to Hong Kong for the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards, and the Financial Times, RSG and Harvard Innovative Lawyers Summit at Claridges.
As a bookseller in a large and busy Waterstones store, I focused on being confident and knowledgeable in recommending appropriate books to customers – as such I was required to be well read and versed in a wide variety of literary genres, and to keep up to date with new and popular releases. I was responsible for helping to train new members of staff, working at events and signings, and visual merchandising.
Music Glue is an e-commerce platform aimed at musicians. In this role I was required to drive engagement through curating the site’s main landing page managed on Wordpress), overseeing the social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram), and sending out regular newsletters to 200,000+ recipients (Industry and consumer).I also carried out basic Photoshop tasks. Throughout my time there I provided detailed weekly marketing reports for the executive team outlining key analytics and insights from the latest marketing activity.
SellMyHome is a modern London focused online estate agency. Whilst there I worked to develop and establish a brand voice across content projects for multiple channels, which required writing engaging SEO friendly copy that aimed to humanise the company within an industry that is typically disliked by the public. To do this I worked closely with Dirt and Glory – a modern communications agency at Havas Media – and Found, an SEO/PPC agency.
I have assisted with press releases Felicities, a fashion PR firm in writing press releases on a freelance basis for them, as well as contacting journalists and working front of house at London Fashion Week.
