About me

I have been teaching design for 11 years and I now feel I have reached as far as I would like to go in this career. Teaching full time is very time consuming so this means I have no portfolio but I have been working when I can on starting a blog - I am hoping this can prove to everyone that I am capable of interior design. My love is retail/commercial design as I did study this at university and have always been encouraging my students to take on projects based on this. I will do whatever it takes to get into the industry even if it means starting at the bottom.

  • Present, educate and inspire students in Design. Develop, plan and create resources for the teaching of Graphic Products from 11yrs - 18yrs. Work with colleagues to formulate aims, objectives and strategic plans of the school. Keep up to date with developments in Graphic Products, teaching practice and methodology. Actively monitor and respond to curriculum development and initiatives at national, regional and local levels. Make appropriate arrangements for classes when staff are absent. Promote teamwork and to motivate and inspire staff to ensure effective working relations. Lead the target-setting process and work towards achievement. Monitor and evaluate the subject in line with agreed school procedures including evaluation against quality standards and performance criteria. Produce analysis reports on examination performance. Ensure that all subject teachers are familiar with their aims and objectives. Ensure effective communication and consultation as appropriate with the parents of students. Liaise with partner schools, further education, industry, examination boards, awarding bodies and other relevant external bodies. Manage the available resource of space, staff, money and equipment efficiently. Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students. To actively make professional development through self assessment and progression.
