I worked on designing special promotions, dealt with stock taking for specific departments, worked alongside colleagues to develop new services such as home delivery. These roles helped to perfect my verbal communication skills and taught me the importance of being able to multitask.
I was responsible for researching unsigned artists and liaising with the editors of Britain’s top music magazines; I learnt how to meet demanding deadlines and how to collate information; skills which I found to be vital when dealing with an ever developing industry.
I primarily dealt with client enquiries via e-mail and telephone. Working at a family run acting agency taught me the importance of initiative and practical skills e.g. efficiency and organisation, both of which I found to be particularly useful when working within a demanding office environment.
I learnt the importance of team work and adaptability and took on multiply roles such as; cashier, kitchen assistant and events organiser. I was also able to develop an awareness and understanding of the business aspects of the company e.g. stock sourcing, customer feedback, health and safety and accounts.
I was based mainly within the Online Advertising department, allowing me to develop my IT skills. I learnt how to work efficiently in an environment that requires precision and strict deadlines. I also gained an insight into the design and journalistic aspects of the company; this is what thoroughly interested me.
