I am an entrepreneur with a proven track record of building successful creative businesses, most recently in the field of online video. As a creative thinker - both artistically and commercially - I'm at my happiest when I can mix creativity with digital strategy and business success. I have a keen interest in the future of media, and am always looking for new opportunities to build and grow content across emerging platforms. I enjoy bringing people together and bridging the worlds of 'old media' and 'new media' to create new and valuable opportunities. As Head of Digital, I am responsible for the digital presences of these brands, encompassing product development, editorial strategy and commercial success. As well as a portfolio of fast-growing websites, Condé publishes market-leading digital editions of its magazines on iPad and iPhone.
ChannelFlip is the UK’s leading producer of made-for-web video. It produces and distribute hundreds of short-form videos each week, which are viewed by a global audience on YouTube, Facebook and other digital video platforms, watched at a computer, on a smartphone, tablet, or via a connected TV. I Co-Founded the business in 2008 with Creative Director, Justin Gayner. We built ChannelFlip from a bootstrapped startup to a leading digital media business. ChannelFlip has won numerous awards for its creative work, which often ties together brands and creative video solutions. In January 2012, ChannelFlip was acquired by Shine Group. Led by Elisabeth Murdoch, Shine Group has built a global footprint producing some of the world’s most creative, ground-breaking, critically acclaimed and commercially successful programming. Shine is a News Corp company.
Whilst studying at University, I co-founded Bit-Tech.net, on online publication for computer hardware and gaming geeks. After University, in 2005, I became Editor in Chief and created an editorial structure and strategy that allowed us to grow our audience month-on-month for 13 consecutive quarters. By March 2007, when I stepped down as Editor, the site was read by over 1 million avid PC enthusiasts worldwide each month, carried advertising from every major PC enthusiast brand, and had earned an enviable reputation as a global leader in the field of custom PC modification and hardcore gaming. In 2008 it Bit-Tech was sold to Dennis Publishing where it remains market leader.
During and post-university I wrote many articles for technical publications covering consumer electronics.
