About me

I’m an integrated designer with a focus on print, branding and motion graphics, but who generally enjoys bringing things to life. I always aim to produce expressive, enlivening work that hits exactly the right tone. I have worked in both design and advertising agencies, and previously in market and opinion research. I am used to using both sides of my brain, and keep an eye on context and strategy while I explore and play around with ideas.

  Tapi CarpetsThe client is one of the largest carpet and floor retailers in the UK, and they see themselves as challengers to the dominant Carpetright. Therefore, they wanted sales branding that was radically different from their competition, and full of fun and personality, or ‘Tapiness’.

  Travis Perkins Man DownA CSR campaign from Travis Perkins to raise awareness of mental health in the construction trade. The launch video below was developed in two days to time the launch with the start of Mental Health Awareness week in the UK, meaning fast turnaround times for storyboarding and execution.

  Oceania (1984)In the world of 1984 as imagined by George Orwell, most of the world is under the control of an immensely powerful totalitarian state called Oceania, ruled by an entity called the Party. Its ideology is Ingsoc (English Socialism), whose doctrines include devotion to the leader, Big Brother, and destruction of individualism and independence. This is my interpretation of how this world would have looked.

  British Airways i360The British Airways i360 Viewing Tower is a tourist attraction, rising more than 500 feet above the Brighton coast. We were commissioned to conceive, art direct and execute a wide-reaching advertising campaign to raise public awareness and appeal.

  Musem of Science & Industry (MOSI)A student brief to extend the branding of the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry. I researched the brief by ‘visiting’ the museum on Google street view, and reading about the permanent exhibitions, and found the museum has a strong historical element, focusing on the industrial and computing revolutions.
• RotterdamA self-assigned brief to rebrand Rotterdam for tourists. Rotterdam has an odd-one-out reputation in the Netherlands, and is a centre of modern art, music and architecture, so it needed branding that expressed quirkiness and attitude.
