An award-winning Digital Designer and graduate of BA (Hons) Computer Arts at Abertay University, I am passionate about media, culture, and all forms of art. Having worked for a variety of clients in the games, events and interactive media industries, my library of skills includes concept art, matte painting, UI & UX design, graphic design, and 3D. Capable of filling a variety of artistic roles, I am currently seeking opportunities to apply and enhance my artistic and production skills through a position in the creative industries.
Worked as a lead artist in a team of ten to develop a gesture control game prototype for Microsoft’s Kinect v2 and Windows Phone as part of my studies at Abertay. I was responsible for creating 2D & 3D assets, user interfaces, animations and concept art, as well as importing and testing assets. Responsible for matte and texture painting in collaboration with the 3D Artist. Creating a pre-production package and establishing a production pipeline. Working to tight deadlines with a mixed team of professionals and students with a range of expertise, demonstrating efficient communication and collaboration. Worked closely with programmers, sound designers, producers, and game designers. Collaborated with Microsoft, Lionhead Studios and Abertay University. Awarded Microsoft’s Imagine Cup UK 2015, Games Category. Awarded People’s Choice Award 2015.
Created a number of After Effects animations which were projected on Bernard King Library, as part of a Christmas event. Responsible for producing concept art, animation, and video editing.
Produced a number of digital illustrations as a part of the interactive platform Northern Lights Ceilidh, which celebrates the cultural values of Scottish heritage alongside Homecoming Scotland 2014. The project was displayed at Dare ProtoPlay, UK’s biggest indie games festival. Responsible for producing thumbnails, sketches, and illustrations in Photoshop. Collaborated with staff from Abertay University, Homecoming Scotland, Dare ProtoPlay and Dare to be Digital.
During my time at Abertay University I have honed my existing traditional and digital art skills while developing greater understanding of 3D asset creation and animation pipelines. Key skills and achievements I have gained include: Further enhancing my digital painting quality and efficiency Developing proficiency in 3D modelling, sculpting and animation Producing assets for and building games in both Flash and Unity Participating in multiple team-based projects where professionalism and communication were key while gaining experience in leadership and project planning Developing and presenting professional quality pitches for both personal and team work
