I am an ambitious and resourceful individual with a proactive attitude and a strong desire to establish a career within event production. Having just completed a month long placement with Block9, I am now seeking employment within a creative agency. A fast learner with the ability to take on high levels of responsibility, I very much enjoy working hands on, and would relish the opportunity to immerse myself in a suitably challenging role.
I was involved with administration such as; the distribution of festival tickets to all crew and artists prior to the festival, creating and managing the system for drink tokens, managing crew meal times and contributing to the documentation of the event in a log book. I aided with the smooth running of the field during the live event, reacting appropriately when incidents occured, and responded to queries at the production office. I also helped with artist liaison during the day, greeting artists and ensuring satisfactory preparation of caravans for their arrival.
Creating moodboards, aiding with the development of event concepts, sourcing and liaising with venues, researching and contacting suppliers, and sourcing and making inquiries into entertainment options. I was present as an assistant at all GSP London events on site. Responsibilities also included admin tasks such as arranging flights, accommodation and transport, organising couriers and deliveries and general office maintenance.
I was responsible for programming and managing an arts tent (capacity of 160) across the Beacons Festival weekend, in collaboration with Village Bookstore. This involved sourcing and contacting potential artist contributors to provide workshops, lectures and film screenings. I recruited and managed a team of volunteers, to whom I delegated specific roles. I was also responsible for risk assessment, contingency planning, creating staff rotas and budget management.
I was responsible for contributing toward developing the concept and aesthetic of Unrefined’s events. I was also involved with transforming their venues by using creative initiative and resourcefulness. My role was very hands on, as I initially trained as an illustrator and maker, I made bespoke pieces such as light boxes and signage to enhance their sets. I also administrated their social media pages across all platforms for their various brands.
This diploma covered; budgeting, planning creative concepts, organising conferences, risk management, presentation skills, social marketing, PR strategies and optimum research techniques. My team created a successful pop-up cinema for the final live project module, raising a substantial profit for charity, and my overall grade was ‘Distinction’.
