I'm a recent UAL Sound Arts and Design Graduate, who's looking to utilise her broad skillset in the world of radio production. My work over the last three years has been mainly focused around radio, audio documentary and journalism. My website, GIGsoupmusic.com continues to grow with upwards almost 300,000 unique hits per month. The site brings together passionate journalists from around the world and provides a platform for their writing online. GIGsoupmusic covers a wide range of music related topics, including festival, album and gig reviews, think-pieces and news articles. I became the co-owner of the site in 2016 and also serve as Senior Editor. One of the main skills I have learnt over my three years with GIGsoupmusic is interviewing technique. Knowing what questions to ask and how to ease a subject into a interview setting are aspects of my job that have been very valuable in my documentary and radio work. My think-piece and interview work also require me to research topics and artists before approaching them for interview. During my course, I took a particular interest in documentary and interview journalism. In my first year at UAL I produced and recorded 'Local Beauty Spot', a audio documentary that explored the lives of those living in Whitley Bay; a once bustling seaside resort. In my final year I went on to produce 'Small Stories', my first full-length radio documentary exploring contemporary grassroots hip-hop collectives in New York City. This work was aired on Resonance FM, and is available on my Soundcloud. As well as online and digital, I also curated and produced Ferocious. a zine series about female and non-binary musicians in London. Aside from journalism, I am part of T-One, a DJ collective that plays a diverse range of music. We've recently been awarded a 12-month contract with Roundhouse Radio. We're really excited about this opportunity, and I'm particularly interested in applying all my above skills into a radio show.Locked Pro Plan feature
As senior editor of GIGsoupmusic.com, I play an active role in how the site grows and changes. I began as a writer in 2015 and was gifted a portion of the site's shares as my own in 2017.
