We’d all like amazing work to do, and real work-life balance. That’s waiting for you at Sainsbury’s. We’re one of the biggest supermarkets in the UK with one of the largest websites. So marketing here really happens at scale. We move a lot faster than you’d think too, across Brand Planning, Brand Comms and Creative, Digital Marketing, CRM and Loyalty, Nectar 360, Insights, and Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability. More people shopping with us each week means more interactions. And thanks to data insight, we understand customers in a way that almost nobody else does. We work alongside incredible brand partners and the best agencies around. So if you have a passion to learn, grow and experience new teams, come and explore it all with us.
Marketing - Campaign Executive
The Argos Campaign Management team lead the design and development of Argos’s marketing communications for brand, seasonal, mission-related and trade-driving campaigns across all customer touchpoints including TV, VOD, Press, Out-of-Home, Social, Digital, Owned Channels and more. We own the end-to-end campaign process, from receiving a customer proposition to campaign media planning, creative execution and evaluation. We’re a team of passionate, curious creative and media experts, and work closely with our agency partners to land the right message, in the right channels, to the right customer.
As a Marketing Campaign Executive, you’ll support the development, planning and design of our marketing communications for campaigns across all channels and touchpoints. You will support the Marketing Campaign Manager on larger campaigns, or you might be individually accountable for smaller campaigns. You will play a major part in our ability to differentiate our brand, excite our customer and create demand.
As our Campaign Executive you’ll:
  • Work with Campaign Managers to take briefs generated in the Marketing Propositions team and bring them to life, supporting the Campaign Manager in translating each planning brief into an inspiring execution brief for cross-channel and agency teams.
  • Be responsible for the development of key outputs, including creative treatment, design and production of all creative work, as well as the development of a media plan by week and channel.
  • Manage cross-functional and external teams to deliver to a pre-agreed set of objectives by managing complex programs of work and ensuring that each part of the campaign meets the objectives.
  • Work with the Marketing Propositions team to ensure that each campaign has clear metrics and that the recommendations can meet these objectives.
  • Manage large budgets for campaigns (<£1m), ensuring spend is efficient and effective.
  • Be knowledgeable of key above-the-line media and have a working understanding of how media is planned and bought.
  • Challenge external creative and media agencies to deliver best in class advertising that delivers to the brief: always striving to be one step ahead with every campaign.
  • Manage relationships with key agency personnel, manage performance regularly and get the very best output from our partners to ensure consistent high-delivery of work.
Our Campaign Management Team would love to see:
  • Knowledge of key marketing principles (preferably within the retail sector) and the end-to-end process for a marketing campaign from brief to execution.
  • Experience planning and buying media across key ATL channels and digital media (VOD and Display) and curiosity to learn more.
  • An understanding of the communication channels available, and the ability to make decisions and recommendations on the best media mix to deliver campaigns.
  • Experience working with creative agencies to develop and deliver marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide clear, strategic feedback on creative.
  • Ability to operate as an effective tactical thinker – someone who is able to anticipate, be responsive and is quick to act.
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders to deliver effective campaigns, building strong and lasting relationships across marketing channels, agencies and Commercial teams.
  • Some experience with agencies and ability to manage relationships with key agency personnel.
  • An understanding of the metrics that drive customer brand perceptions and media performance.
