With more than 25 years of design heritage, our ranges are created to mirror the look and feel of our Soho Houses around the world. Soho Home is an interiors collection from Soho House that includes furniture, lighting, tableware, and accessories created for, and inspired by the Houses.
Reporting to the Senior Designer, as Assistant Designer you will work closely with the senior design team to deliver the design and product development strategy for Soho Home’s Textiles and Upholstery categories. Bringing innovative, and aspirational print and product design to the retail marketplace and Soho House interiors projects.
With the direction and support of the Senior Design team, you will be responsible for producing market leading design in your categories, contributing to and supporting a high performance team culture, whilst growing Soho Home’s presence in the homeware and interiors market. You will strive for a high level of design ideation and support the Senior Design team in delivering an effective execution of the product and development strategy. Supporting the creative identity of your categories, whilst meeting key development deadlines throughout the product critical path timeline. Within the wider business, as Assistant Designer, you are expected to build and establish relationships with departmental peers, ensuring your output enables the Design Department to meet and exceeds the objectives of the business, Ensuring that you add value and design a compelling, aspirational product assortment.
Working closely with senior designers, take direction in designing seasonal product collections that strive to push Interiors by Soho House to the forefront of both homeware and interior design
Taking ownership in the design and development of products through the seasonal development calendar
Contribute and identify new design concepts and materials at the beginning of every season. Promoting innovation and market leading design thinking
Support the product design and development calendars for retail, collaborations and internal hospitality projects, ensuring key calendar milestone are always met
Collaborate closely with the Soho Home NPD peers to ensure briefs intents are executed to the highest standard, whilst understanding the commercial expectations of price and margin
Aid in the preparation of seasonal presentations and reviews
Demonstrate a good awareness of competitors and external industry trends
Support and contribute towards being part of a high functioning team
Conduct yourself in a manner which enables a high-performance culture, where every team member is supported and empowered to successfully contribute to the overall business objectives
Champion the sustainability focus within the product development life cycle
What We Are Looking For...
A Good level of product design and development experience
Fluent knowledge in Adobe programs
Passionate about design and product development, ensuring the member and customer is at the heart of all key decision making
Versed in utilising key tools to clearly convey and deliver design ideas and technical brief packs that are suitable for factory use
Able to work directly with suppliers to ensure best possible execution whilst meeting business financial expectations
Well organised individual, confident in working across multiple projects simultaneously, managing personal timelines and delivery dates; ensuring clear communication with senior team members throughout
A creative problem-solver, naturally curious with the confidence to challenge current practices to instigate positive change
Naturally collaborative, an excellent communicator, with good interpersonal and influencing skills
Confident, conscientious and engaging team member, utilising initiative and foresight in supporting members of the team
A strategic thinker, analytical and results orientated
Enjoys working in a changing environment, able to demonstrate agility when responding to industry trends and evolving demands as Soho Home expands into new markets
