THE ROLE
The Production Manager is responsible for the planning, budgeting, and delivery of 360°  campaigns for key priority titles and Global Franchise Brands as well as Digital,  Branding and Trade projects.  With the Producer, the Production Manager will be responsible for the production of marketing assets across a variety of platforms ranging from on-air to print, social, and on-line content.   They will work closely with the Production, Creative, Photography and Digital  teams, the BBC Social Team as well as the Brands and Licensing Marketing departments. They will be experienced in managing multiple work streams, bringing all the relevant stakeholders together to deliver on all aspects of the campaign. Working in collaboration with a team of designers, creatives, and marketeers, they will be passionate about facilitating world-class creative
DAY TO DAY
  • Working with the Producer on managing  the day-to-day production of promotional assets including the delivery of all campaign and priority title deliverables from pre-production to post and final delivery.
  • Equipped to interpret Creative, Digital and Key art Marketing briefs, ensuring all the necessary information is provided.
  • Attending briefing and creative sessions and presentation meetings – taking notes and ensuring minutes are circulated in a timely manner.
  • Liaising with Marketing and Production to gather programme material for edits, uploading to drives or to the cloud and delivering to Creatives.
  • Working with the Producer on drawing up budgets and keeping the budget up to date throughout the project, raising and tracking POs and setting up new Vendors.
  • Working with the Producer on delivery, ensuring all assets have been QC’d and are delivered to the right specifications. Devising and maintaining deliverables lists – the final delivery of artwork, promos, digital and other campaign assets can stretch to hundreds of assets, so attention to detail is paramount.
  • Ensuring all projects are wrapped up correctly, wrap reports completed and all assets saved to the correct folders, in the right specification.
  • Ensuring all material delivered is editorially accurate and technically compliant., following all brand guidelines.
  • Responsible for ensuring all necessary rights are acquired for the complete delivery of the production(s), escalating any issues at the earliest stage (for music, imagery, talent, fonts etc).
  • Booking both Internal and External post -production facilities and Voice-over artists.
  • Independently managing smaller projects, such as the quarterly sales catalogue.
  • Deputising, where necessary, for the Producer.
  • Although the job can be busy and stressful, and there will there be times when they you may need to work long hours, there will be other periods in the year which are less busy.
  • We will always try and be flexible and try to ensure a good work/life balance.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE?
Key Criteria :
  • An excellent understanding and track record in the production and planning of 360 ° Marketing Campaigns, and/or commercials along with up-to-date knowledge of the latest production technology.
  • Experience in putting together budgets and timelines in Excel, live tracking, and communicating the consequences of changes to a variety of relevant parties. The ability to put contingency planning in place and mitigate risk.
  • Experience in setting up and managing live action / photography shoots both on location and in the studio.
  • To be an excellent stakeholder manager.
  • To be a strong communicator, positive but realistic with the ability to judge the appropriate way to communicate problems according to the audience.
  • To be a pro-active problem solver.
  • Experience and understanding in delivering a variety of digital formats, from organic social to paid media.
Criteria
  • Experience in planning and producing materials for Marketing Campaigns. Able to put complex, agile timelines together from briefing to delivery
  • Experience in managing multiple Stakeholders with utmost tact and diplomacy.
  • Experience of working in a stressful, pressurised environment.
  • Diplomacy and the communication skills to deal tactfully with a variety of people at all levels and to work effectively as a team member.
  • Experience in securing music, image, and other rights as may be required with internal legal teams and rights holders such as MCPS. Experiencing completing contracts such as NDA’s and Risk Assessments.
  • Good technical knowledge of post-production processes, as well as an understanding of design software and operating systems.
  • Understands a variety of digital formats including organic and paid media, and awareness of the different technical specifications that are required for digital delivery, e.g. aspect ratios, programme bugs, BBC blocks, subtitles, platform safe spaces, music clearance, library music, awareness of platform commercial libraries etc.
  • Experience in working on Design projects.
  • Experience in working on Digital projects.
