What you'll do
As a Senior Boyswear Designer at Sainsbury's, you will play a crucial role in developing and delivering successful product ranges across various categories such as jersey, wovens, knitwear, denim & outerwear. With a creative eye for colour, pattern & print and key shapes & silhouttes, your primary responsibility will be to create inspirational designs that align with the category strategy and ambition. You will manage relationships with suppliers and their design teams, collaborating to develop original and exclusive products. Leading a team, you will ensure the completion of briefs, meet deadlines, and achieve objectives. As an entrepreneurial professional, you will communicate as a Senior Designer across peer groups and represent the Design Team in front of Stakeholders. Additionally, you will take ownership of final ranges, identify commercial rationale for presented products, adhere to safety and quality requirements, and set quality standards through benchmarking and monitoring performance. Your role will also involve coaching and leading your team, staying updated on market data and trends, creating mood boards, and identifying areas for product inspiration through trade fairs and supplier visits. Furthermore, you will demonstrate commercial awareness, manage the critical path, and maximise PR for the Boyswear category. Flexibility to travel both nationally and internationally will be required.
