About me
I recently graduated from the University of Hertfordshire. I have specialist skills in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design and After Effects. Also, I can explore User Interface Design; which I have applied during a work placement with BAM Construct UK last summer. I am self-motivated, diligent, a team player and determined to focus on delivering a project to satisfy the audience and client’s brief. The process of generating ideas, and executing them visually is what fascinates me about Graphic Design and fuels my passion for my work. In my spare time, I enjoy painting and using my illustration skills. I find it hugely satisfying. I also enjoy sociology, which is what often influences my approach to find relevant and engaging design solutions. • Thigh Claps
Thigh ClapsBrief: To engage in a subject of my choosing. Approach: There is a massive amount of inequality between men and women in the comedy circuit. In 2018 the Edinburgh Fringe Festival had over 30 comedy shows and only 3 of them featured women. ‘Thigh Claps’ as a brand, event and campaign uses honesty to ‘present the new wave of female comedians’, in order to create more equality within the comedy circuit, so that they can have the same opportunities as men. By creating designs that are both

Straight UpBrief: Create a series of ads that reach young people in a compelling and interesting way to inspire them to read The Guardian. Approach: I have create a sub-brand for The Guardian called ‘Straight Up’. Which can be switched on and off on both the website and application when you subscribe to The Guardian's report feed. It is designed to cut out complex words or phrases in order to enable the younger generation to enjoy and understand The Guardian’s reports in simplistic terms. The poste
  • Vital Santiago
Vital SantiagoBrief: Imagine the identity of a local bike hire scheme in a city of your choosing. Approach: This brand is a solution to Santiago’s pollution issue and is particularly catered to the city, as it will be promoting an affordable dock based bike hire scheme. It is also an alternative means of transport and is environmentally friendly, aiding with the struggle of the stagnant smog. The brands design incorporates both the problem (smog) and the solution (nature) at the forefront of the brand’s

University of Hertfordshire, BA (Hons) Graphic Design & IllustrationAs a course, we champion a good idea above all else. We always have and we always will. Our graduates tend to have a broad range of skills, from conceptual to technical to interpersonal. Most of them can do a bit of everything: illustrators who can develop brand strategy, graphic designers who can animate with the best of 'em, slick digital experiences, clever copy, 360° campaigns, custom type, printmaking, beautiful editorial work and powerful statements demanding change. I was called in to aid and develop a new approach to their Business Management System, that hadn’t been updated in over 10 years. I worked closely with the Senior Team, helping them to understand and develop a new layout that will hopefully create fluidity and consistency throughout their documents, spreadsheets and site tables. I developed wireframes of oversite pages as well as designing buttons to be placed where needed. Over these few months I learnt that to form a harmonious team honesty and clarity are very important. In order to work together to the best of our ability we had to be clear about our views on different parts of the project, these meetings helped us to alter parts of the BMS in order for it to create ease throughout the business.

I volunteered for 6 months during my studies as I wanted to have a better understanding of the struggles that charities like Cherry Lodge through when trying to gain funding for cancer care. This was part of my extended project, whereby I wrote a thesis examining Cancer Care and its difficulties. This experience also taught me that the care for customers is key, as everyone who walks through the door is different in their own right and treating them with the upmost respect is essential and it helps to develop a comforting repour with customers.
