PURPOSE OF JOB:
We are seeking a skilled Azure SQL Data Developer for a fixed term contract (initially 9 months with the possibility of extension) to assist with the seamless integration of data from multiple sources into and out of our Azure Data Lake. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the flow of data through various ETL steps and ultimately integration into Salesforce NFP Cloud and Marketing Cloud, both of which are in the implementation phase. This role requires experience in data management technologies, particularly Azure Data Lake administration and Azure Data Factory and Functions. Experience of Salesforce NFP would also be an advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Data Integration support: Work with the Data Integration Manager to ensure efficient and accurate flow of data from diverse sources into and out of the Azure data lake.Responsible for building data pipelines with Azure Data Factory.
  • Azure Data Factory maintenance: Maintain ADF ETL pipelines and functions to ensure efficient, reliable, and continuous data management in and out of the data lake
  • Salesforce NFP Implementation support: Support the data integration with Salesforce NFP Cloud, ensuring seamless integration with data lake and other systems using APIs and partner services
  • Data Cleansing and Harmonization: Work with others to support Aperture Data Studio to cleanse and harmonize data within the Azure data lake, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and personnel including the Data Integration Manager, Data Analysts, Data Quality Administrator, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Documentation: Maintain and where needed document data integration processes, configurations, and workflows to ensure comprehensive understanding and facilitate knowledge sharing within the organisation.
  • Azure Data Lake administration: Manage and administer Azure Data Lake Storage accounts and associated resources, including security policies and access controls
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor, evaluate, and troubleshoot data integration processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing enhancements to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Procedures: Adhere to appropriate code management, change control, governance, and release management procedures.
  • Support for the requirements of the Data & Analytics Team, and the wider Technology directorate.
  • Responsible for understanding and applying good data governance practices at every stage.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Proven experience in data integration, ETL development, data transformations, and data management.
  • Experience performing complex data transformations at scale.
  • Competency in Azure SQL data technologies including Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Data Explorer, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Functions.
  • Experience in data cleansing and transformation, able to identify and resolve data quality issues.
  • Strong SQL Skills for data extraction and transformation: T-SQL, KQL, C#, Powershell, and Python
  • Understand and interpret the data models of un-familiar OLTP systems
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams (both technical and non-technical).
  • Azure Data Lake Administration.
  • Ability to deliver data to detailed data specifications.
  • Experience building robust data pipelines to extract data from a variety data sources for data migration
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Experience working in a nonprofit or philanthropic organization
  • Knowledge of PowerBI, Aperture Data Studio.
  • Experience of Salesforce NFP Cloud and SOQL
  • Experience of using Github for source control.
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment.
