JOB PURPOSE
As our Product Development Costing Manager, you will report to the Senior Operations Manager, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Merchandising, Finance, Sourcing, and Product Engineering to define RTW Product Costs. You will drive target margin achievement, track key milestones, and provide cost visibility to protect product profitability.
This role requires effective interaction across all levels of the organisation, offering significant exposure to Supply Chain and Merchandising leadership teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide pre-costing estimates for protos and samples, highlighting key issues to Merchandising.
  • Collaborate with Product Development and Sourcing to address margin concerns.
  • Ensure Vendors share cost breakdowns for each proto and sample, uploading prices to FlexPLM.
  • Onboard Vendors to Burberry's Cost Breakdown Sheet and standardise costs where possible.
  • Validate proto, sample, and product costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Negotiate with vendors and report savings to finance.
  • Establish a costing library and provide target price visibility to Product Development.
  • Communicate cost-related matters with external partners, resolving issues promptly.
PERSONAL PROFILE
  • Experience in RTW costing, sourcing, vendor management is advantageous.
  • Degree in Cost Engineering or similar is ideal.
  • Fashion industry experience required.
  • Proficient in English, Italian preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and PLM skills.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all organisational levels.
