  • Very helpful and insightful @Samuel Ryan, thank you so much for taking the time to respond.

Although I have had some experience with code beyond html/css with JavaScript I am keen to learn more through Python and other languages to become more versatile and able to develop more interesting projects and to prototype my own ideas for the various fields I work in.

I have encountered python when using it to run automations on my macbook for various applications and also in animation but have yet to learn it properly.

I work across media production, digital advertising, products and visual merchandising for fashion so application wise I'm interested in app dev and web apps where I can create an interface and system that communicates with electronic components. I have read that Python is versatile and can be used for either and I am interested in linking apps with hardward like raspberry pi - for audivisual electronics and lighting rigs.

I didn't know about the variance / versions of Python languages though and I guess I'll learn more through doing to see what will be useful - again, thank you for bringing awareness to these differences.

I did hear about Learn Python The Hard Way through a podcast and I have the book, so I think I will start there and work through the resources you have provided - Thank you so much :)
