Are you designing/illustrating/directing what you thought you would when you began your creative journey?

Personally, when I decided to career-change, my endgames were either working in sport or wayfinding. I've had a couple of amazing experiences in sport (most recently, the 2023 UCI Cycling Worlds) and while I enjoyed a stint in a signage company at the beginning of my career, I couldn't stay because I didn't feel the company were treating its employees well. Which is a shame, because I worked with a couple of major supermarkets there and could have led to something.

So wayfinding is still an aim for me!

What about you?!

  • @Milly Zecchinato Ahh the accidental specialty change! That has happened to me a couple of times already in my short career HAHA!

UI/UX is definitely something I see in my future–I had began the Google UX Certification on Coursera at the beginning of the year when my previous work contract ended but then I picked up a new role and just didn't have time to continue the course. I will go back to it at some point, but now I'm at that "end of contract" juncture again so other priorities!
  • Not at all, quite the opposite in fact! I started out with designing for print, mostly brochures, flyers, magazines... Then I moved on to logo design... Then in 2019 I discovered UI/UX design almost by accident (the firm I was working for needed a new website and I was the only one with some free time!). Been doing UI/UX ever since and I'm never going back!
