Currently in the very beginning phases of a new photography project inspired by Netflix's 'Queen's Gambit'. Looking for a range of creatives
I'm in the very beginning phases of this project, but want to start looking for people to work with on this project!
- Inspired by the 'Queen's Gambit' Netflix series, which follows the story of orphan chess prodigy Beth Harmon.
- Set in the 50s and 60s.
- Shoot will be a portrait photography session in the style of film stills. See my website for reference.
- I am London based, but am willing to travel around the UK.
What I am looking for:
- Red-haired models: Beth Harmon has red hair and would like to keep that element. Length doesn't matter.
- Fashion stylists: Set in the 50s and 60s, Beth Harmon's story also is visible through fashion and has a very distinct fashion story. From not knowing how to dress, to dressing to impress in a male-dominated field, to finding her own style. Many of her outfits also represent what he is going through, from colours representing the troubles she has to patterns representing chess boards. Am able to provide more details, but help with sourcing outfits would be great!
- MUAH artists: Make-up looks are very simple, but still represent Beth Harmon's journey. Most looks are very natural based to portray her youth, except for 1 or 2 looks that represent her bad times with heavy 60s eyeliner and pale lips.
- Set designers: With the series being 50s and 60s inspired, I've been looking for period accurate locations in and around London. So far I have not had much success, mostly finding filming locations and hotels that kind of fit vibes, but not quite. I always have ideas for props that seem almost difficult to get hold off, and I would like to find out if creating such props is possible.
- There are likely more people/roles that I could receive help from. If you think you can contribute, then send a message and we can chat! I'm open to any connections.
This project is likely to be big, and thus will need some funding. Plan is when all planning is done, try and apply for funding. Realisation of the project relies on funding gotten, but if there is enough funding, I would like to be able to pay people.
If you have any questions, feel free to message me!
