Feedback on an Illustration portfolio!

Hi! I've just recently started working on my portfolio website more seriously, having graduated last year. I would really appreciate any feedback, regarding my art (what to keep, what to toss, what sort of stuff should I be focused on doing next) - if that helps I want to get into editorial illustration and general commissions and possibly publishing (I don't see my style in children's books but I would love to work on some 13+ and YA novel book covers if i had the chance)... Other than that I am not sure yet, I am still trying to figure it out. I will also appreciate any comments regarding the site in general, I know that there is a few links that don't work but I have probably missed lots of other things as I am hopeless at these sort of things! Thank you so much in advance.

ANYWAY here's the site: https://joannazdunik.com/

  • @Zlatina Valova Thank you for this insight, I do agree with you - I have been experimenting with textures a lot lately and I am really getting more comfortable using them - I will be sure to post my newest illustrations soon! Also with different themes, I think I will try illustrating a longer piece of text next time, such as an article and I think it will be a good challenge for me and a piece I could show in my portfolio. :)
  • @Josh Medrano Thank you, that means a lot to me since this is the career path I'd like to follow!
  • @Sara Pelle Thanks a lot - I think I am finally going into the direction I want my style to be and I know it's just the beginning but I am excited to make a lot more. I definitely agree with you about the menu - I need to sort these categories out for sure haha!
  • A good, consistent style definitely targeted towards the younger market, at least. I can see your work being used for editorials or storybooks.
  • I'm no portfolio master neither a graphic designer but I really like the layout and content of your work, the imgaes are great! It looks polished and professional. The colour palette is lovely and I find it very appealing for the current market for what I've seen lately. I love the way you adapt your style to different topics.

I only find the menu on the left side a bit less tidy/polished than the rest (but of course this is just my personal opinion) overall I think it's great! :)

  • Im sure im in no place to comment but i think your portfolio is really good! It shows a lot of diversity and how you are able to adapt. Whether its lighting, atmosphere or colour palette :D.
