'Fishing - A film about listening', Film teaser feedback

Hey all - I just finished a teaser for a new film. It's a documentary about a Japanese-Filipino movie composer and sound artist.

If you could share what you think of it, that'd be awesome! Especually regarding the visuals, audio, editing and concept.

To listen is to be One.

In a world where silence is scarce, we invite you on a journey exploring the philosophy of artist, Eiji John Infante Mitsuta: all sounds, silence, compose music. An exploratory film about listening, co-directed by Steffan Roe Griffiths and Mitsuta.

Full film coming 2024.

  • I love it! It feels like a captivating visual and auditory journey, almost like a form of meditation. It's fascinating to observe how one's body responds to different sounds. Initially, the rush of noise and traffic created a sense of tension, momentarily making me question my decision to watch the teaser. However, in an instant, I found myself immersed in a serene atmosphere, enveloped by birdsong, the gentle flow of waters, and other often overlooked biophilic elements. It's a reminder of the beauty we often neglect or fail to prioritise in our daily lives. The videography and editing is exceptional, seamlessly weaving together the various elements. I also loved the inclusion of how you're working with Eiji in capturing his sonic journey. It's an excellent piece, and I would encourage others to experience it.
