For wanting to get back into the creative space after time away from the industry?

I would love to work towards becoming a creative director.

  • @Nomadic Libaax oh that sounds good I’ll definitely take a look. Thank you
  • Hi Tia, I’m a creative coach. I support people to transition into different areas of the creative field. Let me know if you would like a chat? Yasmine
  • Hi there Tia, check out @D&AD they run an award show in advertising but also run a night school program for all types of creatives providing hands on industry exprience and access to great mentors and opportunties via their networks! Check out their D&AD SHIFT program they run across the world and in London.
  • @Tia Michael no problem, it’s quite unfortunate that there doesn’t seem to be a straight answer unless it’s coming from a person with existing opportunities 🙃 but yes I defo think there is a lot of power in building your own craft and finding people who want to do the same x
  • @Asta Linda Dembele thank you so much, greatly appreciated. I had similar thoughts myself. So it definitely helps me to decide the best route to take. I think I’ll start by doing my own projects and rebuilding my portfolio, since already have some ideas in mind I can focus on that.
  • Such a great question! Liking to follow any updates. It does seem though these days that you have to build your own creative projects, share them on socials and hopefully someone will network with them to collaborate and open doors in the creative space again based on that networking. I think collaboration with people who are also in the same boat and growing from there - this is from observing creative collectives who once had humble beginnings etc

In terms of just contributing as an individual to grow in an already existing creative space, internships, emailing other creatives and sending proposals or asking to collaborate and asking for inspo calls helps
