Hello The Dots! Quick question: how would you describe my work?
Hey The Dots! I've always struggled with finding the right words, adjectives, associations, etc. to describe my work. I know this is a problem a lot of us have, so I thought we could help each other out!
If you could write down a few words that come to mind when you see my work, not only would I hugely appreciate it, but I would be more than happy to do the same for you. You can see more on my website: www.celinemoya.com
Thank you, I look forward to reading your comments!

- @Jamie-Lee Fox Hey Jamie-Lee! I'm so sorry about my late reply. That is one of the nicest things anyone has said about my work, thank you so much!!
- @Júlio Castro Hey Julio, first of all thank you so much for your thoughtful reply and really sorry I am just seeing it now. I really appreciate your kind words!I'm really blown away by what you wrote about my work because you somehow expressed all the feelings I hoped to convey without ever quite being able to put them into words. Thank you for this, it really means a lot. I'll try to return the favour, but apologies in advance that I don't have your way with words! The first word that comes to mind when I look at your work is fluidity. The way you use watercolor and ink to create texture and movement is very beautiful and expressive. Although your forms are simple, you can tell there is a great mastery of the medium behind them. Your quick markmaking is beautiful and brings great emotional depth to your illustrations. You know how to create atmosphere with color, and although you work in different styles in different areas of your work, there is a consistent voice that runs through all of them. You have a skill for telling stories through a single image and I can see your illustrations working really well for editorial and children's books. Also love your self-portraits inn different media!Great work, thank you for sharing!
- Transcendental is what first sprung to mind it’s almost out of this worldly, might I add I love your style!
- You also notice an atmosphere of contemplation, introspection, the characters without mouths remind me a lot of this. They seem fixed looking at something, perhaps melancholic, often facing the viewer himself, or something out of the frame, which creates a mystery and interest by not creating an "obvious" or only literal image.
- Celine, first of all, nice your work, it has a strong aesthetic unity, but on top of that I can recognize your voice, even if it is not the same character or line. I can imagine the works both for advertising and for a comic book, for example. I was struck by the earthy colors and this aspect with humor, but not joyful, if you know what I mean, good, and your personal mark is very consistent with this.I don't know if it was what I was looking to read, but it was an opinion as a designer and illustrator. If you want to do the same, feel free.https://juliodocantocastro.com/
