Hi, I am seeking graduate recruitment specialists, recent graduates & early career practitioners to contribute to my online events.

I am Head of Careers and Employability at Leeds Arts University. We are a specialist arts institution. All our students are creatives and performers.

I do not need to tell you that being a creative, and building your career is challenging. But I would like to invite you to share your stories and experiences with our students of finding, and making your way in your chosen career.

In January 2021 we hold our annual Employability Fortnight event which involves all our year two undergraduates taking part in two weeks of careers workshops, talks and related activities.

This is a moment to pause and reflect. The intention is to kickstart students at the mid-point of their degree to think about, discuss, and to start planning for their life after University.

If I start with the premise, that being a talented creative graduate is not enough, what other skills, attitudes, and commercial awareness do you need to show, or develop to be employable and progress?

Can you contribute to this? I need the authentic voices.

Contact me to discuss if you are interested in being involved.

Particularly interested in talking to:

a) Recruiters for advice and guidance. You can tell students clearly what you expect to see in an application, at interview and, at work.

b) Managers/supervisors who oversee new graduates in thwe workplace, you can share your expectations and experiences.

c) Input from recent graduates and early career creatives and performers. You may still be working through many of the challenges that are our students will face.

For obvious reasons, the 2021 event will be delivered online.

Contact me directly to discuss further.

Regards

Andrew
