  • @Rachel Callender Perfect!! That is great to know!! You are amazing! Thank you so much and whenever I can help you too count on me!
  • @Andreia Santiago also I would say that its totally up to you what you show in your portfolio, depending on what you want it to do for you, i.e. to get you a job or into a course, or your personal portfolio of your design work as a freelancer. Sometimes it might be more appropriate to show off just photos of the finished made pieces with a couple of sketches and 3D developments, whereas othertimes - maybe where you are not making the pieces but just doing the research and design process - it would be better to show your design process in greater depth with lots of sketching and design developments.
  • @Andreia Santiago it really depends on the project, however many pages you feel can best communicate the work you did, and content is also up to you. There's no wrong way to put a portfolio together really. But I think most people want to see your process, how you've gone from your initial research/concept and transformed and translated those ideas into your final outcomes. I've been recommended around 20 pages per project - but if you have less projects in your portfolio you could show more pages. Essentially have as many as you need so that you can show all of your skills off. E.g covering research, design development, any 3D toiles/prototypes or textile samples/finishings you have developed, your technical drawings, fabric selection. But its truly down to you and how you want to curate your work.
  • @Rachel Callender One thing: Is there a number of pages or projects that you would recommend me? So I was recommeded to use less pages but it was a graphic designer and I am sure portfolios for them are diferent that for us. What would you say? Thanks again!!
  • @Rachel Callender Hey Rachel!! Really nice input! I will work on that! that is really great to know! Thank you so much!!! <3
  • Hey Andreia! Your projects are really cool and its really clear to see what your designs are, and your technical drawings are strong. I think it would be helpful to see swatches/get an indication of what kinds of fabrics you are using (as you state in the Strings project that this is how you are communicating the quantum mechanics vs relativity). Additionally it would be interesting to see where your ideas for the garment shapes (e.g the overalls, leggings etc) came from. You kind of do this in your second project really nicely with your drawings showing how you are interpretting the golden ratio curve into the sleeve shape of the pendulum jacket. Maybe it could be a case of just presenting the work a little differently, with the research on the left, highlighting what you are taking from this image/concept, and the drawings/designs on the righthandside so it's super clear. One last thing - seeing all of the looks you have designed in one lineup at the end of the project presentation would be a great way to end, so that we can see how all of the pieces look together, how it flows.
