I'm in need of crochet flowers, leaves and vines!

I am working with a fellow crochet artist, @Sarah Hawke, for an exhibition in May. The exhibition will be focused on what the future will hold; we see the future as a place where gender is continually questioned and a space where our natural environment dominates.

We are making a sculpture using the stereotypically feminine craft of crochet and knit to comment on these ideas. We are making crochet flowers, leaves and vines and combining them with stereotypically mascline materials, such as car tyres and metal.

This is an ambitious project with a short timescale. So, with this in mind we are asking if anyone wants to get involved and donate any crochet/knitted flowers, leaves or vines. The crochet pieces can be made using any pattern, be any size and any colour. Every person that donates will be listed as contributors next to the piece when it is exhibited. We will also send you pictures of the piece when it is finished so you can see what you have accomplished. The exhibition is in East London and we would love it if anyone can come along, too!

Thank you!

  • @Nathalie Elisabeth Wlodarski Hi Nathalie, thanks for getting in touch! The deadline is 5th May. The exhibtion is on the 14th so we want to leave time to get everything prepared. I hope this helps and I hope you have a lovely time away!
  • Hiya, I do crochet and would love to get involved. What is the deadline for it? Cause I am going away this week so not sure if I can make it on time, so depends by when you would need it.
