I wanted to get some feedback on this idea I had. Do you think the drawing works better with am image in the thought bubble or without??

  • Hi Michael,
First of all, the drawing looks lovely! The answer to your question should also depend on what you're trying to communicate.
I like that the left side might convey the idea of sketching or writing as a way/method of thinking (rather than seeing the process of writing merely as the execution of a pre-conceived idea).
To me, the right side can only work if the object in the bubble is recognisable and simple. I'm still not 100% sure what it is, but if it is meant to be an electrical pencil sharpener I would suggest that a manual one might be more instantly recognisable. If the electrical aspect is important, maybe try some more positions or even different models.
Another thing to consider is what the lines around the object convey. At the moment they look as if the whole object was moving somehow; maybe though your object would be more rcognisable if you had only some lines above the handle and elongated them a bit like almost a quarter circle, to show that *only* the handle is rotating.
    Hope that helps :)
