Is there any London based UX Designer here that could share a bit about what the prospects is like for the industry in the UK? Thanks!
Is it a competitive industry and is there a high demand for the role?

- @Claude Lukyamuzi Thanks for the advise! Will check those courses out :)
- @Tiana Ho It’s not a must that you should have to go to a UX, but it will look good, showing the hiring people that you have some knowledge somewhere. They look at your portfolio to see if you know the different types of design methodologies. But With UX Bootcamp, the pros are that they help you reduce your stress levels as they guide you in many different areas to find your first jobs, such as CV help, Mentors and a community of designers, plus the learning experience. There are short courses that you can find on Coursera, which is significantly cheaper than the UX Bootcamp, but you won’t get the whole experience as the Bootcamp. If you are looking for an affordable remote Bootcamp check out www.lovecircular.com
- @Claude Lukyamuzi Hi Claude! Thank you so much for the reply, this is very helpful! Great to hear that an architecture background is advantageous. What do you think about UX bootcamps? Would I need any additional qualifications to get my first UX job here in the UK?
- There is a growing number of UX Designer roles due to the progress in tackling covid. Right now, there is a lot of Agency’s roles compared to start up / company roles. If you connect with a good recruiter or network within the tech space, you'll find a role in no time with a strong portfolio.Ps; I looked at your About on your profile. Senior Designers love Architecture graduate so try to emphasise that part of your history if you don’t have a strong UX background or starting out.
