Roughion have been meticulous in their production over the last 7 years, and this is their most productive era yet. With remixes for the biggest welsh artists coming out of their ears weekly and a backlog of music ready to be heard this is their first original song to be released that is pre-Covid cementing the way forward for this new direction in their music.

Newport Road is a song about longing and arrival. Having spent the majority of 2019 at Cleo’s in Ironbridge every Saturday for 10 months the long drive to Cardiff was always different but one thing that stayed the same was the bright lights as you arrive home, through, Newport Road. A song that was sung in our heads on a long drive through a misty road, the melody saved on various voice notes and claps in the song sounding like a chugging tractor engine in the early morning through Hereford. All the elements of a drive are here the blinding of other cars headlights and the multiple glorious views, and the occasional golden M as you whizz down the M4 or the A49. Newport Road is a song that you can put on and just melt away into the drive or journey you are on, whether that’s in a car or spiritually within yourself.
