Ravilious event at V&A

No takers, but time to leave so offer now closed.

Original message:
I have a spare ticket for this evening due to a friend having to cancel. Would be a shame to waste the ticket. The cost is covered, so there’s no charge. Message me directly if you would like to take the place, I’d be aiming to meet at V&A around 5pm

17.30 - Lecture Theatre doors open
18.00 - Film followed by Q&A with Margy Kinmonth & Ella Ravilious
20.00 - Wine reception in painting galleries
20.45 - Event concludes

  • The film was worth seeing. I’m a fan of Ravilious’s work and it was good to learn more about his short life and his approach to art. It was mentioned in the Q&A that his training and early work as a designer led to his painting being overlooked as pure art, and he himself felt what we might these days refer to as imposter syndrome as an artist rather than designer. His story leaves me wondering how he would have developed. It is a great irony—but perhaps fitting—that he and much of his art was lost to the war which inspired him so much.
