What are the best ways to leverage curriculum development and marketing skills for writing and editorial positions?
I worked for several years in U.S. public education, then served as director for a STEM education company in my area. In that position, I learned management, social media and grassroots marketing strategies, and I did pretty extensive copywriting and content development. I'm nearing completion of a Master's degree in Media Arts, and I've continued to develop my skills taking freelance assignments over the last couple of years. My cross-disciplinary resume garners interest, but I'm having a hard time competing with people more experienced in publishing.
