What are your opinions on using "filler mockups," e.g. stationery, posters, etc. on brand identity projects?

I've gotten mixed opinions from both sides, but I think the use of them is perfectly okay, just as long as what the mockup is relates to the identity in some way!

It's perfectly fine to add some bulk to your projects—sometimes, a logo, typography, and colors just won't cut it, especially if you want to turn something into a full-scale project. Just make sure everything is cohesive and connects back to the brand itself.

  • I agree with you! I believe it's crucial to incorporate them. In any project involving graphics that can be showcased in a mockup, particularly in branding projects, I consider it essential to provide such previews, especially if the projects are intended for real-life use. This is because it offers a glimpse of how the designs would appear in real-life scenarios, so having an understanding of their appearance and integration within the desired environment is vital for me.
