200 Best Album's of the 80's

  • Phoebe Walters

An editorial piece based upon one of Pitchfork's many articles listing the best album's of various time periods. The aim of this project was all about bringing online content to a print based setting, and imagining a print based content filled book that would be a part of an ongoing series for Pitchfork's 'Best Album's of...' articles.

Throughout the pages, I intended to have hints to the time period discussed throughout, after all the book is celebrating the 80's, so it would be odd to completely shy away from the vibrance and bold nature of this time.
The columns are based upon different levels throughout, reflecting the difference in genres of music within the 80's.
Again, hints at the time period, small adjustments were made in the design process to bring connotations of the 80's to the pages. Here the contents page is laid out similarly to the way song titles would be on vinyl covers, whilst also when held up immitates sound wave levels.
