21st Century Self Sufficiency : The Good Life.
Below is a selection of images from my Degree collection. The collection was a visual expression to think about the typical "Good Life" of being self sufficient and growing fruit and vegetables and using natural dyes for fabric, juxtaposed against the 21st Century looking at Laser cutting, Laser Engraving, Devore, Screen printing, digital printing and being primarily focused on natural fibres and minimal waste. The fabric choices, colours patterns and textures organically developed from an afternoon of mushroom foraging. The silk velvet devore dress was inspired from mushroom spores that when left on paper left a luscious thick velvety texture an exact replica of the mushroom gills. The collection is designed to be Trans-seasonal and layered up or down season dependant.
