36 Hours Exhibition

Curating by LADIES DRAWING CLÜB Inspired by Walter Hopps 7-8 August, 2021 36 hours only

In 1978, curator and former director of the Corcoran, the Washington Gallery of Modern Art, and the Pasadena Museum of Modern Art, Walter Hopps opened the same title(thirty-six hours) exhibition where he invited all the artists to bring one work. There was no selection, no rules, instead of: bring one work and be exhibited for 36 hours.
We were very inspired of that idea, as many other amazing Hopps’s ideas, and made this event in LADIES DRAWING CLÜB. We presented more than 50 female artists presented their arts durring the 36 Hours Exhibition.

Exhibitions like this shake up many of the personal long-standing or just standing principles and traditions in my head. It feels like everything is turned from top to bottom, 360 degrees and stretched along. You look at dozens of works by young artists, you look at one work in a stack of others, and you begin to perceive it completely differently. And those works that might not have attracted you in a different format, namely in the style of a wide group exhibition, begin to work as strong and distinctive. Unique approach, technique and style are seen more clearly in the group sometimes.
