I recently selected to curate the Leeds Art University end of year show for photography along with another peer from the course. I had to the opportunity to oversee the building of the space helping design and layout the work, while also helping to finish the painting of the space. The experience has helped with my organisational and conversational skills working with 49 photographers to find a balance between their needs and what we can do with the small space. I reviewed proposals and helped advice some of the photographers on how to layout their work to use the space effectively, while also thinking about how to engage with the audience and further contextualise the subject matter.
