7. Black Lives Matter Flipbook

June 2020 (HND) - For this COVID19 lockdown project, I was tasked to create a moving image piece with an option of either a flipbook or a tunnel book with moving parts. After some consideration, I decided I would go with a flipbook. My design is inspired by the recent Black Lives Matter protests and riots and the people who are fighting for justice and equality. I have used the iconic fist raising in solidarity as my motion source, depicting the words Black Lives Matter on the back-side with every five frames depicting a different QR code linking to a helpful source which supports the cause. As seen below, I have printed the flipbook at the dimensions of an iPhone X which links the flipbook to the modern era as both smartphones and flipbooks are sources of moving image, with the premise of many apps being short motion pictures:
