June 2020 (HND) - Here is another COVID19 lockdown project. For this project, my task was to create four A2 sized mixed media collage pieces which responded to the effects of the pandemic and the lockdown. After conducting research into various local, national and global news stories I came across the worrying discussion of what is going on with all of the single-use 'disposable' PPE that everybody is being advised to use. I have written a blog post which additionally responds to the situation (which you can find over at https://tbygraphics.wordpress.com/). For my poster pieces, I took the theme of relation, more specifically relating the decomposition of single-use plastics to our mortality in hopes to raise awareness of the dire situation we may be in if we do not pay attention and act responsibly with all of this excess plastic. I used digital illustration and physical scans with paper and clear acetate to construct my scenes and then set the type in over the top using InDesign:
