Graduate Collection Social Media's 90's aesthetic meets 19th century Dickensian London. Alongside the sustainability aspect of my collection, where I have sourced all fabrics, trims and accessories from charity shop rag piles; I then extended and developed my concept further by drawing inspiration from the growing world wide Instagram ‘Egirl, Eboy, Eperson ’ subculture. This is a modern day take on Goth but with a grunge, feminine twist. This has then been integrated to form structured silhouettes that were influenced by my research around the late Dickensian outcast children of the London streets circa, 1840’s. In reference to their style of hand me downs and up-cycled garments, I have drawn inspiration from specific detailing and tailoring techniques.
