I get it. Once again, I am 100% behind on this series. I’ve seen the covers a billion times and I always said that one day I will read them. Well let me tell you, that day came.
Complete transparency. It was a bit of a slow burn. But I love a slow burn. There was a lot of building in the first book, and rightly so, because I was a super fan of every single character. V.E. Schwab takes on the task of creating not just one world but three. Before I even knew what exactly was happening, an intricately woven story was at my finger tips and I absolutely could not put the first book down.
By book two, I was fully invested, and it did not disappoint. We got more character interactions, comedy, fun plot, and we were really in the thick of things. Book two might be my favorite. I can always tell when I’m really invested in a book series when I start to fear for the characters. Do you know what I mean? When I really hope certain characters get a good ending.
Book three was wild. Okay to set the scene (spoiler free of course) it literally starts in chaos,, and stays that for for like a couple hundred pages. I’m not gonna lie, I was literally exhausted just reading it, but I was IN IT. To me, the second half truly sold me, and I was already missing the characters and I still like half the book left.
Honestly, just read it. I know I really gave you no summary, and I don’t even know if this is a good review, but just read it. Please. So worth it.
XOXO Reb.
