CrossArts Collective returned to Ugly Duck for its second project, this time taking up the whole floor of their Off Quay venue in London's docklands. The invitation to our guests was to step inside a living gallery, and experience art and theatre’s power to imitate and play with the notion of “reality”. A LIVING GALLERY featured a daytime exhibition of art curated and created by the collective, including: interactive collaborations, film and audio, painting, photography and print. In the evenings there was an immersive "tour" of the space, with characters leading the audience around the adjacent empty gallery space and finishing in the living gallery. The resulting farcical play was inspired by the art on display and by the beauties and frustrations of the creative process itself.
