Based on the model of the French salon of the 17th & 18th centuries, this event aims to bring together those who have an interest in sharing experiences, telling stories and just having a good natter on what the contemporary Scottish identity 'is' in Toronto today. The event was conceptualized by Becky Hogg, a native Scot currently living in Toronto, as a way to update and revise conversations surrounding the modern identity of Scots in Toronto (and indeed wider Ontario). What does this look and feel like in 2019? What are our ties with the changing political landscape of Scotland, if any?
Bampot will kindly be providing sweet & savoury platters, tea (alcohol-free!) and board games.
***Please message in advance to advise of any dietary restrictions***
To close our discussions on the day, Gin Lane, a Toronto-based band with Celtic influences, will be performing a live traditional music set.
Due to the size of the event space, ticket numbers are limited to 20.
All welcome ~ spread the word!
