A Touch of Velvet, Sting of Brass

In homage to my Dad, A Touch of Velvet, Sting of Brass is a collection that explores our common love for music and looks at my own relationship with grief. Incorporating my love for print design, the collection features prints inspired my Dads Jukebox. I was heavily influenced by the music and fashion of 70's looking into the style of artists such as Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac and the way in which she moved around the stage during her performances. Shirring became a main feature of my designs, manipulating the silhouette to emphasize the drape of the lightweight fabrics. Yellow is used as a representation of strength.
